The Shafallah plant is a plant that is widespread in the Qatari environment. It is a perennial shrub, with many branches, and most of it spreads on the ground, unless there is something attached to it, so it can grow high. It is an evergreen plant. It has been known since ancient times for its therapeutic benefits. In Qatar, the plant is medium spreading, loves heavy clay soils and is widespread in the northern regions such as Rawdat Al-Faras, Umm Al-Amad, Umm Salal Muhammad, Al-Kharaitiyat, Al-Shafliyah region. Shafallah is threatened with extinction as a result of urban sprawl, and there are efforts to resettle and cultivate it.
